Here's s 1963 training shot from 7 August 1963 showing XR668/45 leading the team.
Here it is in colour. Date / Location unknown.
As well as the bird strike on XR668/45, notice the "Flt. Lt. P.D. Jarvis" name applied to the aircrafts nose -
This aircraft was regularly used by Pete Jarvis ( Linton-on-Ouse Solo aerobatics representative from 1963 - 1966).
When Pete left the RAF in 1967 the frame was almost at the end of its fatigue life.
Pete doesn't remember this bird strike, so I assume a student was flying the aircraft at the time.
