Linton Blades - Wiesbaden, Germany
10 May 1970
This was Linton Blades first show abroad. The team left Linton-on-Ouse with their ground crew & Flt.Lt. Alick Nicholson ( unofficial Blades Reserve, Linton Solo aerobatic representative 1970 & Linton Blades '71 pilot & probably commentator for this show ) on 8th May 1970 & flew 1 hr to Valkenburg, Holland. They then flew another hour, on the same day, from Valkenburg to Wiesbaden, Germany.
No flights were done on the 9th.
On the 10 May a 10 minute "Full" show was done, including landing & taking off in formation in front of the crowd.
The team & crew returned to Linton-on-Ouse on the 11th via Valkenburg and RAF Waddington

Pilot details have come directly from their log books. Yes, both Dave's have entered the same aircraft in their logbooks. They did not fly together !

The excellent Scramble website ( details credited to Willy Metze ) also list the following "Blades" aircraft as being in Wiesbaden.
