Linton Blades - Doncaster 1970

The team left Linton-on-Ouse with their ground crew & Flt.Lt. Alick Nicholson ( unofficial Blades Reserve, Linton Solo aerobatic representative 1970, Linton Blades '71 pilot & probably commentator for this show ) on 6th June 1970 & flew 10 Minutes to RAF Finingley ( Doncaster ).
They landed & later flew a "full" show ( at 1000 ft ) over Doncaster city. On their return to RAF Finningley they flew a "flypast". Total flight time for the show & flypast was 30 minutes.
The team & crew returned to Linton-on-Ouse on 6 June 1970.

They were to return to Doncaster for another show a week later.


Dave Waddington's log book records the flights to & from RAF Finningley as being 5 ship flights. The show/flypast was performed with 4 aircraft & the return flight has a comment "Photos ITV Howell" against it.
